For most readers of fiction, it is key that some degree of suspension of disbelief be maintained. As a writer, I am interested in how and when a reader falls out of the state of suspended disbelief and is forced back to the realization that they are reading a book (or watching movie). In an attempt to become a better writer, I'm going to assemble a list of these suspension of disbelief killers. As a starting point, see negative critiques, as these sorts of errors will tend to throw readers out of the desired state.
